Volunteer Safety Training
Habitat for Humanity safety training is a mandatory, comprehensive program for staff and volunteers designed to ensure a secure, injury-free construction site or ReStore environment. It includes modules on fall protection, tool safety, proper lifting techniques, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Key Safety Training Components
- Jobsite Safety: Mandatory training covers identifying hazards, using PPE (hard hats, safety glasses), and properly using power tools.
- Fall Protection: OSHA-compliant training is required for work over 6 feet, including scaffolding use.
- ReStore Safety: Focuses on loss control, handling merchandise, and safe lifting techniques (bending knees, asking for help).
- Emergency & Hazards: Covers awareness of surroundings, communicating with others on site, and managing environmental risks.
- Safeguarding: Training on managing power dynamics and preventing exploitation or abuse.
